FMA Fitness stands for Functional and Martial Arts Fitness. Ever heard a super villain gloat about his plan before executing it? That’s what we’re planning to do too (ahem, other than the failing part). So, what are functional and martial arts fitness? Read on.
Functional Fitness
So, everybody has that body builder in the neighbourhood whose childhood dream was to be a mountain. He’s inching closer to it everyday. Engage him in simple activities however, like carrying a heavy bag down the stairs, or reach up to wipe the ceiling fan, he’ll end up taking out his back. Why, you ask?
Because the conventional methods of gymming and body building, train your muscles to work in isolation in the most ideal position. The result? Not a lot of functional fitness. We at FMA Fitness believe that in one’s fitness goals, being able to perform the day to day activities well, comes before being a mountain. Functional Fitness training teaches your muscles to work in groups, creating better balance and increasing strength.
Heard of a mother lift a car off her baby? That’s still adrenaline though. However, we think functional fitness training can aid adrenaline too.
